DARPA Prosthesis 2007 Program
The vision of the DARPA Prosthesis 2007 program is to leverage recent research advances to dramatically improve the capability of upper extremity prosthetic limbs. MAKERS is assisting DEKA in the development of a prosthetic arm that has improved motion, strength, endurance and dexterity. MAKERS is applying its expertise in complex mechanism design, ergonomics, anthropomorphics and design for manufacturing to the finger and thumb mechanisms, hand skins as well as the fine pinch and grasp functionality.
